Yesferatu is sequential circuits, slinky bass lines and a southern drawl. Formed in Washington D.C. in early 2017 by veterans of musical communities as widespread as Minneapolis, New York, Alabama, DC and later, Medellin, the band owes as much to Giorgio Moroder, Chic and David Byrne as it does to Tom Waits, Hunter S. Thompson and American superhero comics. Their live show embodies the blurry buzz of a melodic fever dream, an insistent melange of ear worm synth hooks, crackling rhythmic dynamics and punch-drunk vocal hollers. It's as vibrant a thing that DC's musical kaleidoscope has to offer.
Social Station is the creative forces of Paul Todd and Spenser Kydd. With influences ranging from new wave and post-punk to jangle and dream pop, they infuse jazzmaster and moog sounds to forge an original haunting but accessible sound. Following up the recently released EP, With A Smile, and run of live shows, Social Station has released a set of new songs and is working towards a full length album.
