47Soul with Special Guests feat. Green Zone Pop-Up

PLEASE NOTE: Special guests on this show include Green Zone Cocktail Pop Up - "DC’s award-winning Middle Eastern cocktail bar will be creating and serving craft cocktails inspired by the flavors and cultures of the Middle East during the show."

47SOUL is an Electro Arabic Dabke (Shamstep) band formed in Amman Jordan in 2013. The members are rooted in Bilad Al-Sham, spanning the divides from Amman to the Galilee to Ramallah and the rest of the Palestinian Diaspora. This new sound of 47SOUL has rapidly amassed fans in the Arab World and Europe by blasting the electric Arabic Dabke sound through underground music scenes. On top of the beats that have been bumping in the Arab World for centuries, 47SOUL hypes it up with analog synthesizers, hypnotic guitar lines, and shattering verses from the four singers. Every show ends in relentless dance and trance from all parties involved. Their lyrics, mixing Arabic and English, call for celebration and freedom in the struggle for equality, inside Bilad Al Sham and throughout the world. The current lineup of 2017 includes: Z the People (vocals & synths) El Far3i (darouka, Mc/Vocals) Walaa Sbeit (percussion, Mc/vocals) El Jehaz (guitar & vocals)

Zach Matari

Humble, kind, courteous and authentic are just a few of the words you will hear fans use to describe Zach Matari!

Independent singer-songwriter Zach Matari, known for his most recent single “Mirror,” gained popularity as the viral-hit broke barriers, lyrically addressing body image positivity and body confidence. The track, which released in October 2017, was written by Matari as a request from BitesizedFitness to be performed at their “Positive Body Image Fashion Show” promoting inclusion within the fashion industry. An avid anti-bullying advocate, Matari felt strongly about the opportunity to use his art and voice to spread awareness about the cause. The video released of the fashion show and Matari’s performance of “Mirror,” garnered over 45 million views across social media grabbing the attention of mainstream media outlets including: Huffington Post, Yahoo, AOL, Women’s Health, MTV, SELF, Cosmopolitan and many more around the world.

Originally from New Jersey, Matari released his first original EP, “Day One,” in March of 2016, which premiered at #5 on the iTunes R&B charts and was featured on the "Top 100" overall on iTunes as well as #7 on the Billboard "Heat-Seekers" chart. His singles, “Up To You” & "When The Levee Breaks" won best R&B and LOVE song for The John Lennon Song Writing Contest.

Touring across the country, Matari has had the opportunity to share the stage with renowned artists including Ellie Goulding, Fetty Wap, Ziggy Marley, Fifth Harmony, Mario, R5, Sabrina Carpenter and Jacob Whitesides, gaining recognition within the music industry and continuing to build his fan base.

Using his passion for music to give back to the community, Matari is an active member of Musicians on Call, bringing the healing power of music to children’s hospitals around the country, offering live, in-room performances to patients undergoing treatment.

Utilizing the freedom of social media to connect with fans, Matari keeps subscribers up to date with musical covers, remixes and new releases on his YouTube channel, posting weekly content every Monday as part of the Matari Mondays series. Continuing to carve out his own lane as a soul-pop artist, Matari is currently working on his second solo EP, expected to release later this year.

“Ultimately, life is the best gift we could ever receive and good music is a blessing. I’ve been passionate about music since I was able to talk and have a deep appreciation for all genres. Music is my life expressed through songs.” – Zach Matari
