STAUNTON is a original rock band from Washington DC formed in 2016.
The Slang is an indie rock band three-piece from Washington D.C. Their musical talents have earned them invitations to several premier music conferences including MPMF, NXNE, IPO and CMJ.
The songs of The Slang have been used in various mainstream outlets including HBO, USA network, and Troma Films. The bandâ€™s first self-titled EP mixed by Mark Needham (The Killers, Tokyo Police Club, The Toxic Airborne Event) and mastered by Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys) had solid success throughout the US with over 50+ CMJ stations playing tracks from the EP as well as numerous industry write-ups, both stateside and abroad.
Their 2016 EP titled 'Night and Day' was recorded at the Ocean Way Studios in Nashville, TN, it highlights the talents of songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist John Bobo and having Miles McPherson (Kelly Clarkson, Paramore) accompanying them on the drums with Matt Slocum (Sixpence None the Richer) composing strings.
The band released their album, Night and Day, in the summer of 2016. The album was mixed and produced by Russ Long (Wilco, Sixpence None the Richer). The Slang toured in support of the Night and Day EP starting in the fall/winter of 2016.
Their most recent EP, Desperate Times, was released in Summer 2018 and is currently receiving national aairplay.
