Horse Meat Disco
Horse Meat Disco is dedicated to the industry of human happiness and it pumps it out every Sunday at THE EAGLE LONDON (formerly South Central). Its the queer party for everyone; Homos and Heteros, club kids, bears, fashionistas, naturists, guerilla drag queens and ladies who munch. Musically its a disco behemoth of classics, italo disco, oddities, punk funk in the friendliest venue south of the river. Plus weekly buffet, happy hour, decorations, and spontaneous acts of exhibitionism.
Born from a monthly party in Washington, DC, the Sleaze DJs have a mission to deliver an aural evocation of bygone eras of the LGBTQ underground in the context of a modern club experience. Combining their love of disco, house, and everything in between (and beyond), DJs Lemz and Keenan Orr strive to push sonic boundaries while simultaneously paying deference to a past personified by its music and dance floors.
While the District of Columbia has seen a fluctuation of creative types recently, few artists have influenced the scene as prolifically as OZKER. Organic and locally grown, OZKER has established himself in the past few years as one of DC's hardest working DJ, producer, graphic designer and mural artist, all the while spreading that undeniable aura of being a loveable, huggable type of guy. His devotion to the infectious groove and its counterpart, the bottomless beat, is matched only by his devotion to that trademark follicle foliage that you're bound to see bobbing up and down behind turntables throughout the city!
Ozker has opened for such noted talent as Dillon Francis, The Bloody Beetroots, Will Eastman, Gigamesh, Classixx, Tensnake, Oliver, The 2 Bears, Bit Funk, Anna Lunoe & Nickodemus, amongst many others. He holds several monthly residencies in the city, including nights at Eighteenth St Lounge, Dodge City, Marvin and the Velvet Lounge.
