In the Whale
"Dirty, fun and caked in garage grime, the songs are unconcerned with trends."
-Bob Gendron, Chicago Tribune
Celebrating their seven year anniversary in 2018, Denver heavy rock duo, In The Whale have been turning heads and accumulating a mass of die hard fans and followers thanks to a relentless tour schedule and a go-for-the-throat live performance.
Artists and festival promoters have caught notice, with the band playing Riot Fest, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Afro Punk, as well as shows with the likes of Jane's Addiction, Descendents, The Offspring, Gogol Bordello, and many more.
The band was formed when Nat and Krys met during a show at Iota Café in Arlington, VA back in 2008. Nat and Krys quickly bonded over their love for the YYYs, The Cure, Sleater-Kinney and Death Cab for Cutie. Nat was slated to be the drummer while Krys would be the lead guitarist. However, it wasn't long before the duo realized Nat's raw vocals was just what they were looking for.
The girls found their permanent drummer when Sam Campbell (Krys' old high school mate) re-appeared during the Fall of 2010, rounding their sound with her 90's pop punk influences.
The band was originally named "i want Astronaut", however after a short break, the band renamed themselves 'Company Calls', inspired by a song from DCFC referencing the band's desire to play together again.
Elizabeth II is a dynamic and punchy rock and roll band from Washington DC. With an eclectic Stevie Nicks nostalgia blended with a new age youthful edge, Elizabeth II combines thunderous vocals with bluesy guitar riffs driven by pulsating rhythms.
