Hailing from Dayton, Ohio, Miss May I claims a sound that is mature far beyond their years. With no members over the age of 19, they have been breaking out of the Dayton music scene with a sound that is unbelievably fast paced, heavy, and crushing, yet tastefully melodic and catchy. Currently writing for a full length debut with Rise Records, the band is gearing up for a 2009 release thats looking to propel them to the forefront of their genre.

Upon A Burning Body

Some say it's not who did it first, but who does it the best. Sumerian Records' newest recruits in Upon a Burning Body aren't breaking ground, they're shaking the ground.

Hailing from San Antonio, Texas, the five piece metal/hardcore hybrid juggernaut has been turning heads in the underground DIY circuit for years now. Paying their dues as a hardworking independent band have definitely paid off. They were hand-picked to be the special guests for all of Texas on the Thrash and Burn 2009 Tour w/ DevilDriver, Emmure, Despised Icon & Veil of Maya and now 2010 has the band poised to explode.

With a clear vision for their identity and an immeasurable level of determination, Upon a Burning Body are now touring full time throughout North America spreading their message of dedication, self-belief and relentless competitive greatness. Sumerian founder Ash Avildsen commented "Upon a Burning Body frontman Danny Leal has one of the most distinguishable and decipherable voices I have heard in years. With the perfect soundtrack of riffs and beats backing him and an explosive live show, there is no question what the very near future will hold for this band."

Carrying an infectious theme to their new record, the band is drawing in listeners all over the world through the use of creative lyrics portraying the characters of Al Pacino played in timeless films such as The Devil's Advocate, Donnie Brasco, The Godfather and more. Their debut album, "The World is Ours" is slated to hit stores everywhere in March 2010. The band kicks off the new decade on tour alongside their label mates ABACABB. Shortly after that, the band is rumored to be special guests on select dates with Bleeding Through and Born of Osiris. Welcome to the family.

Kublai Khan

Energetic, aggressive, and passionate music. A four piece metalcore band based in north Texas. We say whats on our hearts to express how we feel, who we are, what we stand for, and wont stand for, as well as the problems of our generation. In hopes of tapping into the underground and revealing the unseen lives and feelings of the youth in modern American society. We are fighting to make an impact in a music scape bogged down with meaningless lyrics and recycled with mindless music. Trying to push messages that often get overlooked or ignored in the nation today, hoping to use our music as a vessel to relate with people and emit hope.

Fast, melodic, crushing, and technical Currents the 5-piece outfit hailing from Newtown, CT are ready to break every stereotype you have about the metal genre. Originally formed in 2009 Currents began gaining momentum with help from their strong local fan base. After countless shows and multiple releases the band settled into a solidified line up Spring 2015 and is here to stay. With new vocalist Brian Wille at the helm the band is stronger than ever. His expanded vocal range and crisp clean vocals add a dynamic to the band that will draw you in and leave you wanting more. Mix that together with riffs from Chris Wiseman and Ryan Castaldi alongside Jeff Brown and Dee Cronkite in the rhythm section and you have a recipe for success.

In Dying Arms

A 5 piece Deathcore/Metalcore band hailing from Baltimore, MD.
Merging frenzied sonic mediations on violence with the occasional moment of heart-on-sleeve plaintiveness, In Dying Arms' brand of bipolar deathcore covers the extreme ends of both the emotional and sonic spectrums. Based in Baltimore, Maryland, the brutal quintet got started in 2006, going through some initial growing pains before settling into a lineup consisting of singer Orion Stephens, guitarists Jeremy Magee and John Myers, bassist Terence Bright, and drummer Alvin Richardson. With a sound that artfully blends the passion of post-hardcore with deathcore's technically stunning aggression, In Dying Arms' anguished, atmospheric riff-fests set them apart from their contemporaries, allowing them to not only play with the dynamics between the two genres, but to create a genuine interplay between them, giving their music an intriguing amount of depth. In 2009, the deathcore outfit made their debut with the EP This Is Retaliation before eventually signing on with Matchless Records (the label of Chelsea Grin's Chris Kilbourn) the following year, with their first full-length, Deprivation, following closely behind. Keeping busy, In Dying Arms jumped straight back into the studio, following up in 2011 with their eponymous second album. In 2012, the band signed on with Artery Recordings, which put out their third album, Boundaries, later that year.
