Ha Ha Tonka
We are a rock band from the Ozarks named after a sweet, sweet Missouri State Park. Our label, Bloodshot Records, says the following about us -
"Ha Ha Tonka sit at the crossroads of Americana and indie, where Alabama meets Arcade Fire – shakes their hand and takes them out for a drink."
Trapper Schoepp has the ear of a troubadour, the eye of a journalist and the heart of a young poet. In 2012, his Milwaukee-based band Trapper Schoepp & The Shades released its national debut Run, Engine, Run on SideOneDummy Records as a love letter to their beloved home state of Wisconsin. The album's mix of rocking tunes and sweet Americana-laced tales has helped paved the way for the group to share stages all over the country alongside such kindred spirits as The Wallflowers, Old 97's, Soul Asylum, Murder By Death and more.
In addition to gaining respect from some of their favorite artists, they've been featured in Rolling Stone, American Songwriter and Alternative Press – which gave Run, Engine, Run 4/5 stars and said that their "Replacements-meets-Uncle Tupelo influence rings clear…Trapper Schoepp & The Shades can only get better." Huffington Post calls 23-year-old Schoepp "A master storyteller."
